The SD Access 4 All program seeks to close the digital divide.
On Tuesday, Mayor Todd Gloria launched a major expansion of the “SD Access 4 All” program with free Wi-Fi at over 300 new locations. According to Mayor Gloria s office, this expansion follows through on his promise to take action to close the digital divide that leaves 53,000 San Diego households with no internet access.
Through the program, the City also purchased hundreds of new laptops and 900 new mobile hotspots that patrons can check out from select libraries. Mobile hotspots are easy-to-use and allow users to connect their laptop, tablet or other web-enabled devices to the internet.

Bryan Clark shares pearls about deploying multiband compressors as sonic superglueâa sequel to last month s pointers for dynamic EQs.
Welcome back, everyone. Last time, I shed some light on using a dynamic EQ rather than a multiband compressor. There are many similarities on the surface, but people use them interchangeably with brazen ignorance of what they re designed to do. If you ever have to replace a bolt (say, from your amp chassis or a rackmounted piece of gear), you measure the diameter and length of the bolt, head down to your local hardware store, buy a replacement, and drive home. Only, after several failed attempts to replace the bolt, you might discover that you didn t get the right thread count and it will not screw in under any circumstances. What I m saying is: Attention to detail matters. Especially in audio, where the difference between a good mix and a great one lies in your choosing the right tool for the job. The Dojo is now open, so let s begin.

Delhi hospitals issued desperate appeals for oxygen on Friday and 13 Covid patients died in a fire, as India s healthcare system buckles under a new wave of infections.
The surge, blamed on a new virus variant and recent super spreader public events, saw another 330,000 new infections a new world record and 2,000 deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
The latest in a string of fires at hospitals broke out on the outskirts of Mumbai early Friday morning, a local official told AFP. It has since been put out and the cause was being investigated.
